How many people actually keep the box when you get a new BlackBerry, or any piece of technology for that matter? I ALWAYS keep the box for everything really. Not sure why...but it will help out if I want to sell anything. People often look for the box.
I keep the boxes in case I resell the phone, but now there's a little "collection" in the corner of my room: My first BlackBerry, the 8220, the 8900, the 9530 and my current 9900. All other boxes have been sold off, along with all the accessories inside the box like the phones.
Learnt the hard way to keep the box... bought a Playbook 32 gig from Staples in Canada.... Touch Screen stopped working... Took it back to Staple but was told no box no return... was told to call RIM.. Called RIM told to take it to Staples.. Now have non working Playbook as a paperweight...... lesson learned...
I hoard the box of every piece of tech I get. I never really consider resale, but the original packaging seems to be the best place to keep track of the included hardware and retired devices.
All reasonably sized boxes go in a drawer until the original devices usefullness is passed. After that they are either sold or disposed of properly. Larger boxes are used as forts and bear caves. Kids love them.
I always keep the box and packaging just in case I have to take it back, but 30 days later it makes a home somewhere and I end up never throwing it away.
But, it helps when moving because I can put everything back in its original packing without worrying about damage.
I keep the box in case I wanna sell it. I kept my box for my Torch 9800 and sold it for 140 and put that money towards my Blackberry Bold 9900 which I only paid like 70 bucks after that sale. I guess I keep the boxes to increase the sell value B-)
