I paid the same price 129 for the 16gb earlier this month at the Burnley store, as did my partner. I think I'll give DSG a ring and see if I can upgrade to the higher level for free, as an exchange deal.
rim Is cleaning inventory before ipad mini comes out. aggressive pricing. the more playbooks are in the wild the better. love my 64gb. paid $299 for it and it was well worth it.
OK, it has now reached the price point where it would be rude not to buy one. Plenty in stock at my local Currys Dig, so they'll be getting a visit tomorrow.
I bought one (for a full set of 16, 32 and 64), one friend bought two, another two bought one each. Bargain of the year....Although they do appear early models (18/05/11 and 25/05/11) and they ain't fully flat on the bottom....
In store pricing at PC World Glasgow and online (info supplied by phone call to customer service representative):
16 Gb 129.00
32 Gb 149.00
64 Gb 129.00
I'd purchased a 32 Gb 30th July thinking that I was getting a great deal, then this happens. Is a gift for nephew's birthday in October. Decided to buy another with the upgraded spec.
Was pretty upset that only 3 weeks after I bought the tablet due to a price cut where the 64 Gb's price didn't change, it suddenly drops in price from 249.00 to 129.00.
As you can see from the pricing, which is not a mistake, who in there right mind will buy either a 16 or 32 Gb model when the 64 Gb model costs the same as as 16 Gb and LESS THAN the 32 Gb.
Incidentally when I went into the Glasgow Finnieston store, the BlackBerry PlayBook display had been removed. I had to ask for the PlayBook from a member of staff.
