i bought the 9900 for a year and it keep having two annoying problems one is it always frozen and another one is the battery life.i gave my 9900 two check at my carrier and eventually the frozen is solved but the phone still got the battery problem and this is annoying me so much!!i've done anything that i can closed all the apps (only the bbm,internet,phone and the message apps are left opened) and reinstall the os for many times,wiped the phone for many times but it seems doesn't help any.so should it give up on this phone??

Yep get a new battery and then update to 7.1.0.569 & report back.

Also, a friend has a theme that monsters battery & leaks memory like nobodys business. She won't get rid of it as its a Canadian theme. Anyway, you may have a bad app or theme that drains yours too.

After installing the OS 7.1.0.580 release and properly conditioning my batteries my battery life has increased big time. I turned on my 9930 at about 6:45 yesteday morning and at 10:45 last night I was at 55%.

The OS of the .5xx series provides a pretty decent boost in terms of battery performance IMO. You'll might want to check those out too.
Have you installed any apps which might drain the battery further? I am thinking of some apps like wheather stuff or RSS readers which might refresh every 5 minutes - which of course drains the battery.

However there have been reports of faulty batteries which get drained quickly, no matter of the OS. So you might got yourself a bad one here.

i do have a weather app but which refresh every 2 hours..and also some news apps like new york times,NME,auto express and ap mobile but all are set not to refresh by itself and no i don't got any RSS reader...

Yes, if you read in this forum the users have always the same problem (inclusive me), bad battery life.

Try this OS, try that. Wipe the phone completely LOL. Always the same advice. Waste of time.

If the OP ask "should i give up on this 9900" i said "yes you should".

Yup definatly true. My battery life lasts 6hrs max with normal use. My charger is my best friend

Something is definitely wrong with your phone or service if it only lasts for about as long as the rated (continuous) talk time under normal use...
