Let me just say how impressed I am with this phone, I was so glad for it to be touchscreen plus OS 7!
But my concern is that it is ALREADY freezing within the first 18 hours of having it, my question is
am i doing something wrong, here?!
I already did a soft reset and seems to be working just fine, but I was just a little concerned, any advice?

Is it a new phone or did you buy it used? I've never had any real problems with my 9930, any issues I've had have been app related and removing and reinstalling the app have solved those.

Could be so many things. OS, signal, Wi-Fi connection, apps - what apps - how many did you install - are they auto refreshing - have you done a battery pull since loading them, BB Protect backing up, how you switched phones, did you do anything to mass storage. You didn't mention how long it froze, or whether the timer was spinning.

    No, it's not normal, normally.

Edit - I forgot one huge one! BBM groups. A rejoin of yourself, or anyone else in a group will freeze it big time.

just updated to the latest official 7.1.

this failed twice and on the 3rd attempt bricked the phone.

    reinstall OS.

install 1 theme, berryweather, berrybuzz, and dropbox.

    memory manager pops up.

phone has zero application memory left.

id wipe it and begin anew, o but i cant download BBSAK for mac.

    another fail for BB.

    update:

    plug into BB desktop manager.

remove bloatware to free a whopping 22mb of app memory.

    10 mins pass.

BB desktop manager failed to install applicaations on your device and has been dissconneted.

not sure how it can fail at installing applications ive chosen to remove.

Not sure how you could possibly have thhat little file free memory, but I'd suggest getting a hold of a PC, loading the OS on it, using BBHtool to shrink it, and run loader.exe to reduce it properly.

The phone is great, when the recommended process is followed.

Most "bloatware" (carrier apps are not preloaded) can't be touched by DM, so...
BBSAK isn't required for wiping, it never has been...

Wow. I've never read one like this before. Think I'd definitely find a way to wipe it and start fresh. That's absolutely crazy!
