May be simple but highly annoying

How can I get the icons to have text beside them?

It is so difficult for me to guess what each icon does.... especially when I install new apps (but also for all the existing ones!)

Driving me crazy....

Don't think that there's a way .. Just click the drop down menu & it sorta tells you
