- Highly doubtful that a battery that is 1mm thicker can offer much help!deercreekmichael likes this.07-23-12 05:58 AMLike 1
- Not true.
I have been using Momax 1400mah batteries for last 3 months and am getting 2/3 extra hours a day. I want the maximum for my Bold, also have new 3,000mah battery for long trips in far out places
JM1 battery in 9920/9930 is 0.5mm thicker and produces 1450mah. RIM could have modified the JS1 battery for the Bold 9900/9930. The length and width are the same!
Thanks

An extra hour or two isn't negligible if it makes the difference between having to charge once a day and having to top up somewhere along the line.07-23-12 07:39 AMLike 0 - From Amazon UK

- Hi there.
I would not mind a 20% pay increase as a general variance!
How do you explain performance of the JS1 1450mah battery in the new 9220/9320 Curve? This battery is running on OS 7.1 and has the longest talk and standby time than any other Blackberry phone.
I once owned a Nokia N96 with a poor 950mah (BL-5F) battery, a great phone at the time, but hampered by the battery. I then used a 1250mah (BL-6F) battery from the N86 which completely changed the phone from a door stop to a multimedia phone.
The parallels are very similar to the 9900. The extra 20% in battery life does not seem like a lot, however in general use the difference in performance and most importantly user experience and enjoyment are very significant.
I must also be honest in saying that I would have gone back to my 9780 had the battery life not improved by using the latest OS 7.1 and 1400mah Momax batteries!
Thanks

07-23-12 11:33 PMLike 2 - The 9220/9320 is drastically different hardware from the 9900, so the battery life is not comparable even with the same mah.
Also not all batteries are equal and mah ratings are not even really accurate or governed. Hence I can rewrap a 1250mah battery and sell i to you listed as 1500mah "extended" life right now...07-24-12 01:06 AMLike 0 - The 9220/9320 is drastically different hardware from the 9900, so the battery life is not comparable even with the same mah.

I dont understand your point. Most people who use a 9900/9930 would jump at the chance to us a RIM JM1 version of the (JS1) 1450mah battery as against the standard 1230mah.
If you are debating if the OEM batteries are not rated as actual, then there is some common ground.
The fact of the mater is that I trust Seidio, Mugen and Momax to deliver at least 90% of the claimed capacity of the batteries and in the worse case senario one would expect at least 1 to 2 hours of extra life from a 1450mah /1500mah battery.
I recently purchased the Seidio 3000mah battery and I expect it to provide an actual 2500mah/ 2750mah capacity. however it does not really matter, because all I want from this battery is twice the life of a standard JM1 1230mah

07-24-12 03:02 AMLike 0 - Not at all, when you consider that the OEM battery is only about 5 mm thick. An additional a mm represents a significant expansion. I've tried these slightly larger batteries that don't require a special cover, on both my 9900 and on my Galaxy Blaze. In both cases I've seen better battery life. The improvement isn't huge but it's measurable.

We just got to keep it in perspective as so many 9900 users want more power and the 3rd party battery makers are sure to fill the need.keyhole likes this.07-24-12 03:30 AMLike 1 - I will give give in to maybe an extra hour but you will see wild claims like 2/3rd better or 3 days of use with adding so little extra chemistry. I have also tried these "slightly larger batteries" and failed to see significant increases in power.

I tried a couple of these kinds of batteries in my Blaze. The first was suspiciously identical in size and weight to the OEM battery, and there was no discernible difference in performance. The second was a Mugen, which was "slightly larger" and a bit heavier than the OEM, and performed better beyond any shadow of a doubt.07-24-12 12:50 PMLike 0
