I just bought an unlocked 9790 and am trying to use it on AT&T.
1) Looks like I'm stuck in edge (lower case IIRC is 2G)
2) I've asked them to add the IMEI but it shows up as unknown and they can't get a Blackberry plan on there for me. This is going to be a problem isn't it?
3) Is there hope to get Visual Voicemail at some point? AT&T also claims that without a manufacturer specific package I can't get this either =(
4) Using correct APN settings seems to have no effect (my eyes, zee goggles do nothing!)

You've bought a 9790 with 3G bands 1, 4 & 8 which would work on 3G with T-Mobile.
You would need one with 3G bands 1, 2, 5 & 6 to work on 3G with AT&T.
