Hi, I have recently broken my Bold 9000's screen trying to replace the housing and I have been quoted anything up to 50 for the repair. I am aware you can buy new bolds for around 100 on eBay but I was wondering if this is the most up to date blackberry with a trackball as I don't like the track-pads. I am aware of the Blackberry Tour but apparently this isn't as good as the bold? Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?
    Thanks
    Owen

The Bold 9000 was the last RIM "flagship device" to use a trackball.

All later devices use a trackpad.

the latest blackberry with a trackpad is the tour, it has more ram then the bold 9000 i believe, and the form factor is alike the 9700/9780.

If wifi isn't a big deal to you, I say get the Tour. It doesn't have wifi but I believe it has more memory & the camera is better

But if you use wifi just get another Bold 9000 or get a Curve 8900.

    Isn't the tour a CDMA/world phone?

If he is in the UK, maybe the Bold 9700.

    The 9700 has a trackpad.

The latest phone available in the UK with a trackball is the 9000

I missed that he didn't want a trackpad. I was thinking he was looking for the least expensive phone other than another 9000, but more recent than the 9000.

Wasn't there one of the Curves with a trackball, in the 8300 or 8900 series?

Yes, but both of those are EDGE devices. The Bold 9000 is a 3G device.

Yes, the Tour is a CDMA World Phone, so you would have to purchase one unlocked to use the GSM mode in Europe.
