EDIT: Scrolling is a bit annoying and if you go full screen, you can't get back. Obviously these are because it is ported from a PC application, so it expects to be running on a PC. Are you going to adapt the app more for the playbook, or are you just going to fix it's bugs?
EDIT: Also, can't see first few letters in the address and search boxes.
EDIT: I'm sure you know all these things.
EDIT: (yeah, again) Crashes when trying to enter a password into a password field (tried Facebook and Google).
:P Yeah when updated to Qt5 it gets about +100 more and has less bugs.
I'm using an old version of Qt4.8 (first one ported actually) due to a showstopper bug in QtWebKit on git.
Hi,
This thing sure is very buggy but i love the idea of a "Desktop" Browser on my Playbook when im using it in "netbook" mode with keyboard and mouse. Just testd it and its just like firefox on my PC
Are you planing to improve it or fix the bugs? i would definatly buy this app from the appworld or atleast donate!
This was more a proof of concept.
I won't be bringing this particular app forward. There are newer, modern browsers based on Qt4.8/5.0 that I will look towards bringing to Playbook.
However, HaTaX will probably do better with a full-on Cascades version of SB
Disappointed to hear you won't be continuing work on QupZilla, it could easily be the best browser available on PB with just a few tweaks (e.g. working bookmarks). I can even live with the scrolling via scroll bar for the better browsing experience (especially XDA forums, which take ages to load on the stock browser)
But it's good to hear there are other browsers you could port A Cascades version of SimpleBrowser would be sweet too
Out of curiosity, how long does it take to port an app like this one? Is it just a case of compiling it with the PB port of Qt with a few minor changes to the code, or do you have to heavily alter the code to make it run on PB?
