    im new to the curve. i already love it i have no idea how ive gone this long without a bb. however i just got rid of the tmobile wing and it had an internet sharing feature witch would allow you to hop on the internet with my laptop with one click as a modem. is there any way to do that with my curve...

    There is a way to do it, but it takes a little setup to get it going. First you have to know the APN settings for Tmobile. Once you have that setup you have to setup a dial up type connection on your PC. Though its a dial up it doesnt use your minutes only data.

    Enter the initialization command

    From your computer, click Start.
    Click Control Panel.
    Click Phone and Modem Options.
    Click the Modems tab.
    Scroll to Standard Modem.
    Click Properties.
    Click the Advanced tab.
    In the Extra Initialization Command field, enter the following:
    +cgdcont=1,"IP","wap.voicestream.com"
    Click Ok.

    Create dial-up networking





    From your computer, click Start, Settings, Control Panel, then Network Connections.
    Click Create a new connection, then Next.
    Select Connect to Internet.
    Select Set up my connection manually.
    Select Connect using a dial-up modem.
    Select the Standard Modem, then Next.
    Enter T-Mobile as the ISP Name.
    Enter *99# as the Phone number.
    Click Next.
    Leave the User name and Password feilds blank.
    Deselect all the optional check boxes in the bottom portion of this window.
    To create the connection, click Finish.
    In the Connect window, click Properties.
    In the Properties window, verify that Modem - Standard Modem appears beneath the Connect using heading, then click Configure.
    In the Modem Configuration window, clear the Enable hardware flow control check box and make sure none of the other check boxes are selected. Click OK. In the Properties window, click OK.
    In the Connect window, select Save this user name and password for the following users.
    Select the appropriate option.
    Confirm that the BlackBerry Desktop Manager is running.
    IMPORTANT: BlackBerry Desktop Manager must be running, or error 692 will appear during the dial-up attempt.
    Open the web browser and navigate to any website to test the connection.
    If the laptop connects but Internet Explorer does not, follow these steps:

    From Internet Explorer, click Tools, then Internet Options....
    Click the Connections tab.
    From Dial-up and Virtual Private Network settings, select T-Mobile.
    Click Set Default.
    Select Dial whenever a network connection is not present.
    Click OK.
    Click OK again.
