I am getting this phone tommorow. I am reading about a 4.5 version to upgrade to. Is that safe? I have verizon. Does that void warranty? WIll the phone work better? I am tech savy, but I am new to bb phones. I would hate to upgrade this first thing before I even get my hands on the phone and have it not work right. But then again, I would hate to not have the phone work to its potential. Thanks for the help again guys and gals. You guys rock......

Yes it is safe. I would advise you to spend some time getting
familiar with the phone and maybe read some of the How-Tos
    first.

Yes, if the OS is not from your carrier it will void your warranty
unless you downgrade first. And you will not get support from
VZW as they did not release the OS.

There is not a whole lot to be gained by going from 4.3 to
4.5 so you can hold off for a bit.

Make sure you read up about it on here first before you attempt it, but it's a fairly easy process. I researched it here and did just fine when I upgraded.

What is really the point of upgrading for casual users? Battery conservation?
