I noticed that an icon called "Voicemail-2-Text" just randomly popped up on my homescreen. When I click it, it takes me to a blackberry site that asks me to download it. I don't plan on using it at all and can probably infer what it does, but I'm just wondering how did the icon get there when I did absolutely nothing with my phone in the last hour?

Your carrier pushed out a service book to your phone. Since it's just an icon, you can always hide if you don't want it on your list of apps.
