I am a Blackberry Bold 9780 user since December 2011. Now I purchased one Blackberry Bold 9900 also. I would like compare the features of both phones.

First I am mentioning Both my OS versions.

Bold 9780: 6.0.0.480(2115)
Bold 9900: 7.1.0.342(1149) recently updated after purchase.

Battery

Bold 9780's Battery is good. On moderate use I will get around two and half to three days backup including 1 to 2 hours song hearing with head phones.

Bold 9900 I am getting 1 and half to 2 days maximum with same type of usage.
Most of the users are telling Bold 9900 having less backup only.
But I am not believing, Because Comparing to Bold 9780 backup is less, But 9780 is not the proper phone to compare. Both are two segments.

Bold 9900 having 1 GHz Processor, Touch Screen, 16M Colors and High resolution display comparing to Bold 9780. All this features are taking more power. So backup will be less.
If you compare with same segment phones like iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy S2, Bold 9900 is the king of battery backup.

Camera

Bold 9780 having a nice Auto focus 5MP camera. Video quality is not so much good.
By using auto focus feature its possible to make documents photos instead of scanning documents.

Bold 9900 having 5MP camera without auto focus, photo quality is good comparing to 9780. But you cannot take photos of documents like 9780. Because no auto focus.

Video quality of Bold 9900 is fantastic, its a 720p HD camera and having very good video quality. I didn't seen any mobile video camera like this.

Size
Comparing to Bold 9780 , 9900 is a little bit bigger. But no difficulty to carry, and also simple to type using big keyboard.

Audio, Voice and signal Quality is almost same.

I would say this is your personal opinion. Personally I would pick a 9900 due to its keyboard, display and high specs. But the battery life is terrible (unstable to be honest). If you are not willing to charge your BlackBerry every night then I suggest the Bold 9780. I have a Bold 9900.

The Bold 9790 may be a better compromise. Sadly, I do not know if it is available in your country (Bold 9790 available already in Hong Kong).

Any review is going to be personal opinion. That's the way reviews work, and if you think the author of a review excludes their personal bias from the review you need to think again.

Battery life might be "terrible" compared to older BlackBerry's, but let's be honest - look what you're getting and look at the housing. You get a far superior phone (faster processor, better graphics, higher quality keyboard, touchscreen) with a thinne form factor and therefore smaller capacity battery. If you're coming into this expecting to get the same battery life as a 9780, perhaps you should pinch yourself (because you're in dreamland).

I will only recommend the 9790 if you haven't used the 9900 already. I tried the 9790 after using the 9900, and it just felt like a major step back. Maybe that's because I never used the 9780, but it just felt cheap compared to the 9900. It's a nice phone, and has a great keyboard, but it felt like going from driving a Camaro to driving a Prius.
