I'm trying to make a switch from Rogers. I'm currently on a family plan with my mom but I'm tired of Rogers bullsh*tting me every month with random charges. I'm just curious as to what some of yall plans are with other carriers and how much you're paying monthly

I'm with Telus, paying $78/month. Like my plan, but I get ripped off for call display. Not going to complain though since they let me switch to this promo plan mid-contract.

Promo voice and data 70 ($70)
    Comes with:
    200 anytime minutes
    Favourite Numbers 10
    6 GB
    Canadian LD @ $0.40
    Family Calling LD
    Unlimited SMS/MMS
    6pm Local Nights & Weekends
    Call Waiting
    Voice Mail 3

    Call Display ($8)
    100 extra minutes (free)

    I'm on Bell:

    Fab 10 $35
    - 200 anytime minutes
    - 10 nationwide numbers no LD
    - unlimited nights/weekends @6PM
    - unlimited text/picture/video messaging

    6 GB Blackberry data add-on - $30
    - includes tethering

    Caller ID/Voicemail bundle promo - $5

Total for all, $65 + tx

(I am an employee so I then get 35% off that)

    EDIT

The old Fab 10 6 GB plan as well as the $30 add on data block is no longer available. I can't even add them from the archived section if a customer requests it. No idea on when we are bringing it back.

Unless you are a long term customer with one of the carriers, you are probably only going to get the published rates. I have seen some pretty good rates on some of the discount carriers where the BlackBerry service was only ten dollars a month on top of the regular cellular service.

    Telus, $50/month

-500 MB of data (all the data including BBM data+tethering)
-200 anytime local min + weekend and 6pm evening free
    -basic voicemail (3)
    -unlimited text/mms across Canada
-unlimited local calling among the family members
    -call Waiting/conference Calling
    +$8/month for the caller ID

I had to call Telus and complain about why my friends on the same plan has 200 min and I only have 100 min to get them to increase my min to 200!

And as a student I am not happy. These days you can't even go to a first year class without a smartphone. The professors use these systems where you have to use an app to send your answers.

I just took the plunge on ebay for a Bold 9900 on ebay. I will be on T-Mobile with the $30 100min 5gb plan. With $10 dollars extra for BIS/BES, it would nice to have a full functional BB device for $40 a month. I'm hoping Wifi Calling works so i can save my minutes when i'm at home.

I keep 3 cell phone lines (2 Canadian and 1 US) and I don't come anywhere near $285. I have data, BIS and all sorts of calling plans on all the plans. You seriously need to considering getting a separate line for the US and have your Canadian line forward while you're in the States.
