I want to try an experiment with my playbook and write an app for it.
Is there a PDF with all the functions that can be called or is whats on the playbook website (the various section that you cant download) al there is? I would like to print it all out and to use as a reference.

Have a look on qnx.com, they have some PDF's available for download. Not all is relevant for PlayBook though.

Also, the NDK developer forum would be a better place to ask:

NDK with C++, Qt with C++/QtQuick, Adobe AIR with actionscript/flex, WebWorks with HTML5 and JavaSCript, various game engines

For a beginner try HTML or Action script/Flex, I would suggest starting with HTML going to Flex, and then trying C++.
Just take it slowly and eventually, you will get it.

Make sure you are not using the one that comes with the NDK. It contains incorrect and incomplete information!

I've been playing around with Construct 2 based on someone's suggestion here. Not bad, totally graphics based so you don't have to learn a language. It does most of the coding itslef. It's for game development but can be used for apps. I'm still learning the ins and outs.

I went to that BB developer site and its totally confusing and frustrating. I found C2 to be easier to install and use. Here's the website and let me know how it works out for you. Don't forget to share any tips and tricks you learn.
