Hey All,


I'm thinking about making a switch.
I have a Bold 9790 and was offered to trade it for the Torch 9810.

Just wondering peoples thoughts. I haven't had a slider phone in years. Just wondering what everyone thinks of it and the positive feedback and negative feedback is greatly appreciated.

My 9810 is my 3rd BB, I love it. BBOS 5 was good, BBOS 6 was crap (in my experience), but BBOS 7 is amazing. Personally, I have zero negative feedback to post. Once or twice a week, my 9810 will "pause" on me, freezing for under a second. HUGE improvement over the 9800 PoS . I very strongly doubt you will regret switching, just keep in mind the physical keyboard feels different 'cause it is recessed inside the slider.

My 9810 doesn't freeze at all. It's a great phone if you want a bigger touchscreen and a physical keyboard.

In my opinion you will not regret the change, this is my second torch from 9800 and i didn't have any kind of problems nor freezes. im rocking my both torches at maximum, the only difference is the speed from 9800 to 9810. other then that is a pretty awesome phone.
Also don't worry about the slider is rock solid!!

Before you make a broad statement like that you should clarify that maybe YOUR phone freezes too much. Not ALL 9810's freeze. Since updating to OS 7.1 my phone has not frozen ONCE.

To the OP, the 9810 is a great phone. Go check out my thread "9810 Love?" and you will find plenty of 9810 owners who are very satisfied and love their phone. Its a great phone and I dont think you'd regret owning it.

Just thought I'd also let the OP know that I have NO freeze issues as mentioned above.
The battery lasts all day without a charge (3-4% drain per hour with moderate-heavy usage) and the touchscreen/slider combination makes this phone a real good communication device.

Its a bulky phone. I wish we had the 9900 available where i live, but the large screen on 9810 is great for browsing/games.

I agree with tellsells! No freeze issues that I don't cause myself. It's a computer remember, so if you keep clicking on an app for instance, it will try to respond to all of your launch commands and sometimes takes a moment or two to open up, but even that is seldom. Great phone. 9900 is too but I like the bigger screen even though I'm not a gammer. The browser is extrememly fast as well. Just my opinion.

Pinch to zoom is smooth. Internet browsing is fast. Music player is great

I had it for a two weeks. Bigger screen, pretty good keyboard, auto focus camera, better battery life than 9900 (at least for me), responsive. But I exhanged it in favor of the 9900. There was nothing really wrong with the 9810 but the 9900 suits me better. In any case, the 9810 is a good device.

i was on 9900 for about 6 months & then switched to 9810 because of the oh so aweful battery life of the 9900...9810 is much much better...the battery life is good & also i love the big screen...just go for it!

OP, you will not regret the switch at all. This phone is just amazing. The big difference you will feel the beautiful big screen. Everything is just fluid, slider is solid and the phone feels quality in hand.

No freezes. With 7.1, this phone is getting better and better in every department.

This is the best BB out IMHO I just love it...

the best phone ever....i dont even use the keypad anymore.....just the touchscreen...cant remember when i pulled down the slider....the phone is just great
