I upgraded from the 9800 to the 9900 a week ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find BB maps loaded and working, despite me being on at&t. I assumed at&t decided not to block it on the 9900, but then I got a double surprise: BB maps suddenly showed up on my wife's 9800 homescreen, after hiding for 15 months.
Did at&t actually wake up and realize they were wasting time and resources trying to block BB maps? Did maps re-appear for you too?

Yep, BlackBerry maps showed up a few days ago - 9800. Glad to have it! Now if ATT would stop blocking PlayBook Bridge!! And open up NFC on 9900 that I am about to get!

Download bridge from http://rroyy.com/ applications folder. That will allow you full functionality of the bridge.

Only thing that att blocked was the browser portion but if you download it from rroyy's site that bypasses it.

I'm on a 9900 on att and surf the web bridged to my pb all day long.

My 9800 showed up with maps a few weeks ago, although I already had BB maps on my Torch. This one is the same program but a different icon.

For those of you wanting it do a search on CB. I can't remember where but someone here has the app you can download. That is how I got mine.

    Try this:

    http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...s-help-570573/

    http://www.gln.bz/ads.nsf/bbmapslaunch.jad

That thread is from 2010. There is the complaint that ATT blocks it after a battery pull. I have ATT and do not have that problem.

Unfortunately that doesnt work. Thanks for trying though..

I downloaded it and clicked to open and get this message: "Uncaught exception: Could not start internal application"

    Lame!

It's been like this for YEARS, but nobody you can speak to in person or on the phone has ANY information about why it's blocked or how to unblock it. But of course, it worked fine on my Storm.

I think I'll include this in the letter I'll be writing to AT&T soon.

Please do , this is most annoying. If its ATT's attempt to block me into using their software its definitely not working. I am using google maps but it seems to be getting slower and slower each time I use it and I preferred bb maps on my 9700..
