Hey guys.. Just a quick question.

I really want a new BlackBerry device and i'm not sure which one to get, either the Torch 9860 or the Torch 9810?!

What is the 9860 like to type on? Is it anything compared to the iPhone?

    Thankyou!

I'm bias. Get the 9860 If you can hold off for a while wait till BlackBerry 10 phones comes out.

It won't be like the iPhone, every phone has it's own feel to it. Try going to a store and test them out, play with them a little.

I enjoy my 9860. Its a little narrow to type on in portrait, so for best accuracy I tend to flip it into landscape. Its a bit of a battery hog on 4G, but then it appears all 7.1 devices are

I also love my 9860, IMO, it's a great phone! However, I totally agree with rayfabolous and Undenied; at this point, wait a bit until the BB10 handsets come out. If you're really in the market for a new phone now, go to a store to check one out and see how you like it first. Good luck!

I've been thinking about this too! I currently have the Storm 9550 and have been due an upgrade since Oct. last year. I thought I'd decided to get a phone off ebay so I could keep my upgrade for when the 10s come out, but now I'm wondering if I should just wait it out a little while longer...

But I want a new phone baaaad!!!!

I love my 9850 (from the S2) but at this point I'd wait the seven months for bb10. If you can't wait, typing on the 50 is great in landscape. Much faster than the s2 nd the screen is fantastic. Much slimmer form as well. I was prepared to be disappointed but have been thrilled even after four months with it.

Its a great phone which has one key factor.
    First impressions don't count.
For me, I based my buy on freinds reccomendations.

I checked out the phone and hated it the first time I got it. The keyboard sucked, the feel was weird and everything was just.... Different.

After buying the phone on what I call a "risky buy", I used it for just 3 days and everything was smooth. Its a phone you need to get used to. It won't impress you on first sight like other phones do. I am proudly typing this message on a torch 9860 in 3 mins. Its insanely fast and is extremely fast at typing. Get it... Good battery life 3% drain an hour on heavy use on official 7.1.0.267. You won't regret it
    I know I didn't.

Oh and each phone is basically the same... It comes to personal preference for the buy.

The decision really just comes down to what you prefer, messaging or media.

The 9860 is fantastic for browsing the web, facebook, youtube, etc. The bigger screen is great and the touch is fluid and responsive.

The 9810 has the smaller screen, but of course makes messaging (BBM, text, email) much easier.

If messaging is essential, and you do a lot of it, the 9810 might be a better option. If you like to browse the web more, watch videos and play around on facebook, the 9860 might be the way to go.

I'm biased towards the 9860 for all the reasons listed above but have no issue with using it as a communication device as well which is actually what I use it for most.

I have nothing negative to say about my 9860. Its been flawless since day one. I can type very well on landscape. On a side note, does anyone now if there are two version of this phone? One with a 2.5GB & a 4GB. Only reason I ask is cause mine is 2.5GB.

P.S. this is my one thousand post........ CrackBerry Master...

I guess it is a 4GB version only, 2.5GB is the usable memory. But you may be right.
