Hi,

I've been meaning to ask this question a while ago but has anyone noticed that when you reboot the device, it makes a little popping noise? It sounds like a bad mp3 with a scratch in it. I've also just downloaded 3D Rollercoaster Rush Jurassic 2 and every now and then the speakers make the popping noise as well. It could just be the rollercoaster falls/lands on and off rails. Has anyone experienced this?

Let me guess; you are on OS 7.1? This is something that (as I recall) occurs in 7.1. My Bold 9930 and my Torch 9850 both started this when I upgraded them.

Yes. I was never on 7.0 even though the device came with it. I wiped the brand new device and loaded it with 7.1. It's weird as I couldn't find this type of issue any where on google

Same here, since I updated to 7.1 too. I think its more of an annoyance than an issue though.

On Vz with 7.1. Mine does it too. Not really a concern, everything works fine.

I don't see a problem with that noice. I think it is even cool in a way. RIM probably have no good reasons for why they decided to include this sound.

Now that the boot up sound is confirmed. Has anyone played 3D Rollercoaster Jurassic 2 and noticed this same sound as well? It's actually a loud click. Not sure if this is part of the sound effects??

Annoying yes, but at this point wouldn't you worry if it stopped? :-)

Mine started doing this once I upgraded to 7.1. It isn't loud - might be annoying if I had earbuds in during a reboot.

Hey, lets just assume this annoying sound is a test of your speakers when you boot.. Just assume that when the phone boots, it does a few check of your hardware and the sound is a check of your phone speakers
