so i got a playbook at the beginning or march and it automatically updated to os 2.0 .7971 (to my dismay) but today i plugged it into my macbook and the desktop software seems to think i am running os 1.0 and is prompting me to update. Has anyone else seen this happen, and if so what does it mean?

Disconnect your playbook, Remove the device from desktop manager by clicking "Device --> forget device" and reconnect the PlayBook. Should be fine after

It could be because it's a Mac?

No that's not it. I have a macbookpro and also connect my PB and have no problem. I would do what the other poster said: disconnect, reboot and try again.
    I never have that problem.

had similar issue, just "forget device" in DM and reconnect playbook should work.

That happened to me on my MBpro but shortly after that a DM update was released and after updating it showed my current software on the PB.
Are you running current DM software?
