Got the 7.1 update on my Blackberry 9900 a few days ago.

The battery life has increased dramatically on OS 7.1!

Normally I would have 20% battery life at the end of the day but now I have 60-70% battery life at the end of the day (with H+ signal), which is absolutely incredible.

This is compared to the first time I got the phone when the battery would die by 7PM.

Good job RIM on squeezing the juice out of the battery!

yes the battery backup has been mind blowing, for me it is 2% to 3% per hour which rocks after the update 7.1

Mine still dies when I'm idle. Had to charge my 9900 at work so it doesn't go off in the red region at 9pm when it's off the godd*mn charger at 9:30am.

No I am NOT on the battery saving mode and max drain rate I can hit with this would be 5%/hr. But overall drain rate is around 2-3%/hr which makes me very happy. I get a whole day plus 40% left after many BBMs, SMS messages, web browsing and some Facebook.

I ran the leak for AT&T and it was great the first week then I was getting real bad battery life with nothing changing. No new apps or new ways or reasons to play with the phone.

I since went back to the old AT&T 440 os.

What do you mean that you ran the leak for AT&T? The most current official AT&T os is .576 Did you put a leaked 7.1 version on your 9900? In that case, why go all the way back to .440?

I've found the battery improvements of 7.1.0.267 fantastic.

I can't see much more improvements in future updates.

    Hope I'm wrong.

Got myself the 7.1 - 284 (998) already. It makes my cell phone alive more than previous os. I am using Bis service, receive&send a lot emails per day, BBM to my friends, never browse website. The battery can stay for whole day. Not really good, but its enough for me.

Same here, I even felt like my Battery is Draining Faster on me compared to my last OS7.0 (.585).

I might try to set my Battery Saving Mode to "Always On".
