Im at work chatting with some of my co-workers when one of them comes up to me,"____ your a bit of a BlackBerry genius." (her words LOL ), "I try to be" was my response. She then tells me that she picked up a PlayBook when it was on sale but it is currently being "used as a door stopper". She then asked me what i use mine for and what does the PlayBook do/what is it made to do.
Well my first response was to advise her to take the PB off the floor and put a nice case and screen protector on it LOL. Second thing i did was make sure that she bought the right device for herself. As much as id hate to see a PB returned id hate it more to see the PB in the hands of a person thats going to misuse it and then think PBs/RIM/BBs are inferior products. Asked her if she was looking for something to help her with her day to day or something or media consumption. She didnt really know what she wanted so i told her what i use mine for.
For me communication is what my PB means to me. i use it to type out emails, BBM, FB, forums and general surfing. Being where i live and my current lifestyle there isn't much else to use it for. I told her how comfortable it is to just lay in bed or on the couch and surf the net while watching a movie, try to do that from your home computer , how with Bridge i can use the 7" diagonal to BBM my friends instead of my lil 3.25 on my 9550.
I know the PB is mainly a business tool but for me, not being in the business world (YET!) i find it a perfectly good companion for everyday uses . If it wasn't for my fiance id go grocery shopping with it and use the grocery app i have on there, but she thinks it would be embarrassing to walk around the store with a PB in hand LOL
For CrackBerry! Besides.. Bridge it all the time.. Browsing and some social stuff.. Since I design.. at end of day.. i load it up with my day stuff.. and use it to review it later.. Images and PDFs.. and music is all along! i really love the speakers..
EVERYTHING .My laptop has now become my desktop, my PB goes everywhere I go. I can access all my customers info anytime anywhere. It's a great overall experience for me, I play lots of games also on it and movies..
pretty much everything! it's tossed between email, invoices, research and calendar for me, the kids snag it and go read, play games, watch youtube, make movies (which are seriously funny to watch later after they forgot they made them), take pictures. the wife steals it to catch up on her shows (Her mother was absolutely giddy to see she could watch Y&R on it!!) and some FB. we really do need at least 1 more in the house.
For browsing, everywhere. My BB and PB are both for personal use, unless I'm at work and need to use the either to pull up some stuffs from the web in desperate cases.

Mine has become a mobile gaming platform, it has lots of great HD games and it is super smooth for browsing the full web, meaning sites with flash. I do occasionally read though the Kobo app is very bare bones. I recently bought a movie on the movie store, granted the movies I wanted to buy were not there. So, I'm going to go watch that, lying on my bed...
I've had mine since Monday and so far I use it all the time. I usually have it bridged and it sits was the me at work and then ill load up spreadsheets and docs I may need to look at at home. It's great for surfing while on the couch or in bed as already mentioned.
My laptop was stolen a week after I got my PB - and I haven't felt the need to replace it. It's not a perfect replacement (I'd love to be able to bring my invoice form into D2G, but the embedded logo doesn't show up in the document), but in some respects, it's a lot more useful. Bridging is so much faster and more convenient than tethering the laptop to my phone. And I can carry the PB in a jacket pocket, now that my backpack was stolen along with the laptop inside it.
Surfing internet,
Checking Emails
Video conferencing device
Accessing to dedicated servers via rdp
Media player
Sometimes audio recorder and camera
Reminder and calendar
Meetings presentation device
Entertainment device and playing games
It really works great with unlimited blackberry data plan. I have internet access everywhere and always even without wifi. I'm really in love with it.
Maybe fun but I use my playbook even in toilet to read something or playing some games
I use the Playbook when I am on the go for tapatalk, checking email, web surfing and it works great for that thanks to bridge.
I just can't see any tablet ever replacing my laptop at home or the office -- unless it had a touchpad and keyboard and a menu driven interface with full featured applications. I guess I spend too much time in PowerPoint and Excel.:-(
lots of good feedback from all you lovely CBers LOL. The PB is a very well rounded device and is used for almost anything you can think of. all hail the PB
