I have had my Bold 9780 since January 2011 and it is my first Blackberry. I love the phone and have no problems with it. Only issue I have is the internet, I just wish it was faster.

Question: is it worth getting the Bold 9900 now or should I just wait for BB10?

Get a curve and wait for BB10
Get a 9790 or 9900 and use it for a while. Wait for a while after BB10 release and see if younare going to stick with BB

I say go for it. The combination of touchscreen, track pad, and keyboard on the 9900 makes it a treat to use and so much more efficient.

Do it. Do it now. Something tells me BB10 devices won't be out this year and as said above: no keyboard. No go.

Once you use the 9900 your 9780 will feel slow and clunky. Trust me, my brother has one and it feels incredibly slow, small and thick compared to the 9900 not to mention the lack of touchscreen. No wonder why people love to hate on blackberry. It used to be so bad lol.

Don't get me wrong though. I loved my old 9700 and 9800 but honestly the 9900 is a whole different monster hardware and software-wise.

Browser? Twice as fast than os6 devices. UI? Smooth as butter. Speed? You bet.

This is the best blackberry I've owned hands down. Downside? The camera sucks compared to my 9800 or your 9780 for that matter. Still usefull though.

    Don't think. Buy it

There are many reasons not to get or to get. Internet is much more faster on the 9900 that's for sure.
I'm don't know what is fast for you but for me it's good enough to do my work.
Go whatever that suits you the best.

The way you get in, open your Apps, get your job done and close it, - this entire experience is a whole lot faster, smoother, stress-free and more effortless on the 9900.

Typing & screen display are wayyyy superior. Yes, camera isn't up to 9780 but in time, you can get your way around it.

The 9780 would def feel "slow" ...

my previous device was a 9780, am on 9900 not even a month.

    typing
    screen display

get it now, then sell secondary market when bb10 is about to launch (RIM always tell in advance so no suprises or huge price drops like apple, I hope).

get it, take good care of it and sell it when the bb10 is out, you wont lose much $. I like the 9780, it is an amazing phone, feels better in my hands, it solid and durable, keyboard is excelent, but the internet is s l o w...
I bought the 9900 just bc of that, not even for the browser, which I still think leaves a lot to be desired, and cant care less about the new keyboard, touch screen and size, but the internet connection is faster, and so is wifi...

I was in the same boat except I had a 9810. I was wanting to wait until BB10 came out but I went ahead today and got the 9900. I have never been more pleased with a BB phone, and I've loved each one I've had. Also, this keyboard is so great you'll want to type and type for even no reason.

Get it, I've had my 9930 for over 3 months and recently got a 9700, had issues with the GSM/CDMA radio not getting a good signal here with a GSM Bengali carrier. So I have issues with battery life, my reason for getting the 9700. I use both phones now, I'd recommend getting the 9900.

Why? Well RIM is under a lot of pressure to deliver and I have a feeling they will be pressured to come up with a iphone like device, so basically no keyboard, at least not this year imo.

So don't wait, if your thinking about getting it, go for it! You will not regret it. There is NO slowdowns ever due to memory leakage or anything, everything is butter smooth, but I'm sure you've heard that alreadu. Just buy it

It's kind of alarming that we haven't even seen ONE leaked picture of any full qwerty keyboard BlackBerry yet (though that would make the wait for a BB10 traditional style BlackBerry even harder). I remember when I first saw pictures of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 back in April of last year, I couldn't WAIT to get my hands on one. I imagined being able to touch icons and scroll in the web browser. And 4 months later, I picked one up on launch day and have loved it ever since. It is truly the best BlackBerry, and I was pretty content with my 9780 at the time.

But the fact that we have not seen any hints of what a full qwerty BB10 phone might look like, makes me think that we might have to wait longer, past "the Fall." Another reason for this is that it's so clear that most smartphone users simply do not care about a full qwerty keyboard, and care mainly about apps and having a big screen to watch stuff on.

If I were selfish, I'd hope that RIM would say "screw those people" and launch a BB10 full qwerty phone first, because that's what I like. But I know that RIM so desperately needs those users who only want a screen, so that's why I'm not expecting any BB10 full qwerty BlackBerry until maybe a year from now. I might pick up the full touchscreen BB10 when it launches, but I know that NOTHING gets me more excited than a new BlackBerry with a full keyboard!

The BlackBerry Bold is the best phone there ever was. Whether you continue to enjoy your 9780 or acquire a 9900/9930 you can't go wrong.

    Why not, man?
Two things you need to remember when you get the new one.
    1. Make sure about the battery when u open the new box.
    2. Ask services engineer about the way to charge then take care of the power.
