The upgrade itself went like a charm, without a hitch for me on my 9810. However, after the update was finished, I rebooted the phone (Alt+RShift+Del). Upon rebooting, the phone was completely frozen on the home screen (no network connection ever made, and could not click on anything). Tried the same three finger salute with no success. So did a battery pull with the phone on, still no go. Finally I tried the Alt+Shift+Del one more time and voila, it's working fine.
Thought I would share in case anyone else ran into this issue.
Is it my imagination, but it seems that my phone is significantly faster since the update. I also noticed about 7 apps needed to be updated.
My OTA update took 2 hrs 15 minutes. After about second or third automatic reboot, there was a long pause when I could not do anything, nothing responded to any touch. I thought about doing battery pull, but decided to wait. Eventually everything came back to life in about 5 -10 minutes.
All is well.
I was able to update aswell 7.1.0.921 is the version onmy 9810
FYI we usually don't say the package version but the actual os version (which should be 7.1.0.267), so if you see someone saying that he have the os 7.1.0.267, it's the same os as you (which is package 7.1.921)
I have downloaded the OS7.1 software update for Bell from BlackBerry's site, onto my pc, then installed on the pc. However, then running desktop manager and connecting my 9810, it doesn't pick up the new OS for updating that should be residing on my pc. Does anyone have any ideas? Bell CS thinks that the update 'signal' hasn't been sent ota to my geographic area yet, and to wait 24 hrs. The phone is unlocked, original carrier was Rogers which doesn't yet have an official 7.1 release.
updated: Removing the vendor xml files fixed this issue.
