It took a good 4 hours to do the back-up and install, then hung up during the restore (on "restoring camera settings".) After a battery pull, it finished the restore and started up OK.
Pretty much everything seems intact - I haven't gotten it communicating with the playbook yet but then again I haven't tried. Seems very responsive - although 7.0 was working great for me too once I deleted a couple of resource-hog apps.
Hmmm... mobile hotspot? Will have to find out if extra charges will occur. the plan I'm on with Bell Canada is "unlimited BB BES data (not including "tethered" data usage)."
Took over 4 hours ota... Bridge and playbook remote gone.... Not Happy... Mobile hotspot appeared... Somewhat happy, still figuring things out
my bb bridge icon was gone too after update. I had to delete it, remove all usb devices and reinstall before I was able too see it again and connect to my PB.
Took me about 2.5 hours to complete. BB Bridge icon was gone but said it was installed. Deleted it and re-installed. No problems. I have not used the hot spots yet or anything else specific to the OS 7.1 but look forward to seeing what is new.
worked great, except I lost all the config and registration settings for my third party apps.
the best part was I got to choose "english" only on the settings, I've gained about 30mb of additional application space by opting out of installing non-english languages. Phone seems to restart faster too.
I'm a Rogers Customer, but I loaded the Bell Official 7.1.0.267 os, and now...
My phone is even more awesome than before!
Everything there, except WI-FI calling, and NFC (but 9860 doesn't support that)
However, there's always room for improvement, we'll see what the new leaked. 342 improves on, but I would like to see another major update before BB10, hopefully to a 7.5..
