I've had my 9800 for a little bit over a year now, and it's a great device. I'm just tired of how laggy it is. Sometimes it really frustrates me. I've decided on considering another phone purchase in between now and BB 10. Therefore I'm wondering if the 9790 is a significant enough upgrade from the OS 6 models.

I felt the same way and upgraded to the Bold 9900. What a truly awesome phone. I would personally hold off on a BB10 till following spring this way any bugs are worked out in the 2nd generation of BB10 phones. I went from a Torch 9800 to the Bold and have no regrets what so ever.

I went from a torch 9800 to a torch 9860 to the bold 9790 and I believe it is a much smoother OS. I have to be honest in that on the 9860, I still had some annoying lag, but I am not experiencing this on the 9790. I was debating the upgrade as well but since I know I want to stick to a phone with a physical keyboard, I know I'm going to have to wait for an 10 that has this, so I figured I might as well. No regrets here.
