    Hi Phill

Quick queston, to create a Hybrid .284/.267 do we do it in the same way that you used to create the .585/.540 Hybrid ?

Paste the .284 files into the base .267 download ?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm still new to messing with OS's in this way.

    Thanks as always.

No, this is slightly different. That was just a radio swap, this is a radio and Java swap.

Paste the whole new OS folder over your existing .267 and agree to Replace All files.

    Then shrink/wipe/install

Installing this right now, BTW what is the difference between conventional installation of leaked 7.1.0.284 and these files?
How these files are available however no leaked .284 yet?

I got a 603 error right after the OS loaded. It came up on a white screen with the only option being app reset. Not sure if this is what people call self bricking as I've never experienced one before but aside from that, I haven't noticed anything else.

Installed .284 on my 9860 OS .267 y'day. Everything is working fine. Network locking to EDGE is much quicker and stable in this so called hybrid.

Yes, .284 is absolutely better than .267 eventhough they have the same 5.1.0.230 platform. IMHO .284 is quicker, stable and better battery drain.

    Hello Phill,
In the dwl link it said that to Replace the existing 267 files was OK to install.
But you also mentioned about "shrink" - what did you mean?
How to do it? Eg. what to do after Replacing the files?

Shrinking is simply deleting not needed COD files (can be done with program called
BB boss), shrinking is not necessary.

Just replace the files and then open loader.exe and proceed as with regular leek installation.

So far I can't tell the difference between .267 and .284, I would recommend you installing the leaked .267 or wait until .284 will "officially" leak...=)

I once wrote a lousy guide for upgrading the OS: http://naftalyavadiaev.com/?p=15

Hello Phil , I have the following questions if you can help:
1- Does it have Arabic ?
2- is it better in terms of battery consumption in the .267?
3- Someone here said, it does not have UMA, does this means it is not 3G ?

    Thank you in advance

I'm not Phil but can address these questions.
    1. To install this you have to paste provided files on top the .267 so nothing will change regarding what languages are provided. [I installed Hebrew input and it works well, think the same will be with Arabic]
    2. It i still early but thus far I get the same drain rate for both.
    3. I'm now working on 3G/4G with no problems.

    1) This is a MultiLanguage build so it does support Arabic, same as I tell you everytime you ask
    2) Too early to tell, but so far no different to .267
    3) UMA has nothing to do with 3G, that's UMTS. UMA, or Wifi Calling as it is now is carrier specific, and it IS in this OS

Shrinking is just removing unwanted files from the OS to increase memory. It's not necessary... I just do it because I can.
