I tried setting backlight brightness to 10 from the default of 70. But after every reboot or battery pull, it resets back to 70. Tried with both 'automatically dim backlight' on and off. Anyone have suggestions so that the backlight setting stays at 10 even after reboot or battery pull?

    Running 7.1 .258

same for me, the only way I can get it to stick to 10 is using battery saving mode.

I saw this "fix" in the 9900 thread (posted by LiteBulb) and it worked for me:

    1) Set the screen brightness to 10 and timeout to 1 min. SAVE.
    2) Set the battery saving mode to "always on". SAVE.
    3) Then back to the screen brightness menu and set the timeout to 1 minute (brightness still at 10 because of battery saving mode).
    4) Switch off the battery saving mode.
    5) Now set the backlight to where you want it and the battery saving to what you want.
    5) Re boot and it should be where you set it.

Don't ask me how or why it works but it does for me!

A quick question. In step one you say yo set the timeout to 1 minute. In step 3 you say the same thing. When I got to step 3 the timeout was one minute. Did I miss something?

It didn't work for me, but maybe I did something wrong in the procedure.

    Thanks.

My 9810 does this as well.

Is there anyone not experiencing this issue?

I found my issue with the procedure above. Your 9810 can not be charging at the time you do the procedure. Worked like a charm for me.

    Thanks tellsells

When the phone is not charging, step 2 (battery saving mode always on) will change the timeout, and then step 3 changes it back again.
Glad to see in your following post that this really does work.
