Is there anyone with the 4g option under the mobile network settings? If so can you tell me your carrier and os version you're running please?

    Thanks !

3G here, but i think i 'might' have seen a 4G. I bought a AT&T one off ebay,i think i might have seen 4G on it, though i didnt pay attention to it at that time, so i mght be wrong. I returned it already though, since it didnt work with my carrier (wind mobile in canada). I got a 1700 bandwidth one, and it says 3G

    Hmmm....thanks.

I am thinking this option is directly related to the OS build on the device and of course IF your carrier provides the service. So I am trying to find out if there is an OS build for the 9860 that has the 4G option under the Mobile Networks settings.

According to the Blackberry web site

    9860
    Tri-band 3G HSDPA UMTS networks:
    2100/1900/850/800 MHz or 2100/1700/900 MHz
    Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks:
    850/900/1800/1900MHz

    So, no 4G here ....

I don't think you can choose 4G only, it is 2G or 4G/3G. thats how it shows in mine

OK thanks, so what does it say for the 9900? I have both on the same os, on the same carrier, 9860 says 3G.....9900 says 4G.

I'm pretty sure that the 9860 doesn't run on a true 4g speed connection. Despite it saying 4g with some carriers (I believe some carriers consider an H+ connection 4g, when it is actually not).

Mine displays H+ with Rogers in Canada.

you are right, its just H+, but instead it displays 4G

It's simply H+. ATNT just uses it to show off probably.
Canadian networks now have true 4G LTE, but so far, my 9860 hasn't shown 4G yet
    LOL
    No, it doesn't support 4G

Thanks guys, so does anyone know what/where determines what is displayed on the handset ? 3G/4G? To elaborate, I have a 9900 and a 9860, both running a leaked version of 7.1.0.267.........the 9900 shows 4G and the 9860 shows 3G.....both on the same carrier network. I am leaning towards something in the OS, but I'm a bit confused.

    Thanks.

I was running a Bold 9700 with a 3g sim card, when I got my 9860 I got a new sim card. Don't know if that makes a difference.

You have seen what? What would you like to know if it is an upgrade?

P.S. - You resurrected a 2.5 year old post btw.
