The new Desktop Manager software 7.0 update came out today for everyone. Does anyone know if we should remove the 6.0 version prior to updating or loading the new version. The instal box says "Update" which would lead you to believe all will be well and copied over, but we all know that is seldom the case. Any suggestions would would be much appreciate as always! Always edgy to update something that currently works great! ie:device software update recently out.
Yeah--saw that Andyahs. I noticed that at least one person said they removed the old version and then installed with no prob. I read it after my posted thread. May wait to see what happens in the next 36 hours. The update will still be there. Thanks!
Good to know. Did you back up first and does it keep the 6.1 back ups or create new ones? also any issues with syncing? My biggest concern, as I use mine for business. Also device is 9810 using the 7.0 (1355) version.

Reason: typos
The thing is you need to download the software from RIM web site which contains its own VC++ SP1 version included into the .exe;installing it,no problem with install, backup, sync and wifi media sync also (already in process syncing music between my laptop and my Torch! backup already done!
AfroLoGeek, thanks! do you mean the update menu box that pops up when you open DM on the pc, or do I need to go to the BB site that has the download link? Also, does anyone know if on the "initial" sync, it is best to sync Outlook folders to device only and then change configuration to sync back and forth, or is that not necessary? DO NOT want to lose my outlook folders info like contacts and calendar as it is for business as well as personal.
