I got my 9900 less than a week ago and have noticed that the wifi signal is very weak in my room (1 bar) whereas my 9700 got about 3 bars. Upgrading to OS 7.1 made no difference.

One other thing is that my radio connection often switches to '3g' as opposed '3G', it does this only for a second or two and then switches to GPRS or EDGE, but loses connection for a second or two in the process.

Since I only bought it 5 days ago, I can go in and have it replaced easily, is this necessary or am I just being a little girl and shouldn't worry?

My 9900 shows full bars and then disconnects and re-connects randomly

Have you tried doing a battery pull?

It could be a bad wifi antenna, which is hard as to replace. If a battery pull doesn't work, then a warranty replacement can be done. and if your network settings keep swapping to 2G (EDGE) and 3G (or lowercase 3g), it's likely a carrier issue with the towers, poor reception is likely the case.

Swap the device and then you will know if your hardware is the issue.
