I have a Blackberry Curve 9300. Whenever I go on my messages or emails or something there is a symbol there and ive enever seen it before. Its a phone symbol, with an arrow above it pointing to the right.
It isnt there when I am on my home screen or anything, only when my messages or emails are open.

I am thinking it could be a call divert active symbol. As mentioned above, a screenshot would surely help in resolving your doubts.
