- I have had my Bold 9650 for I guess at least a year and a half or so. I went through some of the unofficial updates until Verizon finally came out with their version of 6.0 quite some time ago. Pretty much stopped fussing with the "unofficials" after that.
Along the way, I picked up BBSAK so that I could back up all of my 3rd party apps. The problem is during the past few months, I have noticed that it seems to be corrupted. There is the replacement of known apps with the BBSAK's name. Error messages about what will happen with BBSAK when I go to update an app show up.
The worst part is that Apps are disappearing left and right. Finally today I wiped the phone and reloaded a fresh OS out of frustration. Problem is that I had to use an old BBSAK back up to recover Apps. Now the problem is back again!!! Important apps disappear and updates are taking forever, assuming that they work.
So I just saw this evening a few posts about something called BB Boss. Does anyone have any feedback on this product? I donated my $5 to BBSAK recently and now I'd like to get it back (yeah right).
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.01-15-12 08:27 PMLike 0 - FubazCrackBerry's Sour Grapesorry to hear about your issues
there are a few apps to help with ... well apps.
I have used BB Boss to extract my apps, but that seems like a waste of time to me because apps are always updating and compatibility changes.
I prefer to use Ibnux OTA downloader. What i do is find non app world apps and download them to my memory card using the app. This way all my apps are on my media card for fast install.
And you shouldn't get your donation back, as it is that in fact a donation.
You wouldn't donate to cancer research, lose a friend or loved one then call them and ask for it back because your money didnt help them.01-16-12 01:26 PMLike 0 - I have found that instead of restoring from a BBSAK backup, using the Install CODs function works for me. I could never get the BBSAK Restore Backup to work correctly...mainly for the reasons the OP stated.01-16-12 03:33 PMLike 0
- is install cods function is it a part of bbsak? not familiar w/ bbsak. probably need to be.
ibnux ota downloader: does it install te same widely used apps available on crackberry/ app world? for ex directly from developer? or are apps different ones only available to ibnux users? is tere a ibnux forum w discussion of ibnux-flavor apps?01-31-12 10:04 PMLike 0 - I have had my Bold 9650 for I guess at least a year and a half or so. I really don't have an answer for you...I wound up completely wiping my phone and just starting from scratch using appworld and my BBID to re-download everything.02-01-12 10:29 AMLike 0 -

I had this same issue for awhile when BBSAK first appeared. What I found is that if I restored my apps via the BBSAK "Restore Apps" button, which calls the BBSAK BACKUP.JAD file, then my reinstalled apps appeared as grouped under a BBSAK name. I no longer have this issue, as I no longer use the button or JAD to restore.
See if this works for you:
Use LOADER.EXE to restore your apps. When launched, it will go through the stages of reading your device, then stop at the Device Application Selection window. You'll see an "Add..." button above the applications list. Click the button and navigate to your BBSAK backup folder. By default, the only choice listed to you in that folder is BACKUP.ALX -- that's the file you want to use. Select it and proceed with the LOADER.EXE routine. All of your apps will reinstall individually, using their own names and version numbers.
What this will NOT do is automatically re-register your apps. You'll need to do that yourself for every app that requires an installation code or special configuration. It's as if you have loaded each app for the first time. Beyond that, using BACKUP.ALX is your key to victory.
Hope this helps.02-04-12 09:11 AMLike 0 - I fail to understand why ya'll want to make something simple so complicated. I do backups for protection. Wiping is not necessary except extreme circumstances, as installing the OS results in a wipe anyway. Do a 3rd party app backup via CX method, a database backup, run Loader.exe, choose restore data including 3rd party apps, boom, done. Virtually all app permisions set, properly listed in the system, and show up installed on crAppWorld.02-04-12 10:17 AMLike 0
