My understanding is that o/s 7.0.0.2406 is the same as saying o/s 585. BB o/s 585 is a 7.0 release yes, but it is one of the most stable releases for the 9900. I am running 590 right now and it is probably the best o/s right now. I would wait for a 7.1 release that is after the current 190. Until we get a 7.1 release that is as stable as 585 or 590 then Telus will not release it.
Telus will improve a lot of users with their official release, especially those still on the original o/s that came with the phone.
Experienced BB users don't wait for official releases anyway.
My 2 cents, Good luck!

I had the stock .261 Rogers OS. Installed .585 last night and it's a good improvement. Faster reboots/start ups, Browser is noticeably much fast faster, battery life is a lil better, OS seems more 'snappy' and the call radio is great. I hear less echo's now when talking on the phone.
I'm content until 7.1 goes official from the Big 3.
I have a Mac at home where I usually sync my Bold 9900. At work I use a PC and i sync calendar there. Would it be okay to update the OS from work or is it best to do so on my Mac at home? Carrier is telus, not sure that matters.
I have also noticed my battery is draining a little faster with this upgrade.
I am having major wifi issues with it as well. I never had any issues with the previous OS (.261 I think it was). Now, even though I have full bars on my wifi signal, a lot of times my browser simply will not work. I get error messages on every page I try and load. If I wait for a few seconds, my wifi signal will drop out completely and then reconnect about a minute later, or I can simply turn wifi off and the browser works fine. This happens everywhere (home and work at multiple sites) so I know it's not a router issue.
