Well, that makes me feel a bit foolish for paying near 30 for the same card a couple of weeks ago. That'll teach me to not make hasty high street purchases.

A question about the formatting though: I just chucked mine straight in and it worked. All this talk of formatting and 'installing' the card...??

Same here put the card itn. Card detected. Space available. Uploaded porn...i mean word and spreadsheets and it works

    no formating

Those that 8G MicroSD are pretty damn expensif though I paid 80$ for mine. I still bought one but damn when then 32G hits im sure it will sell for like over 150$ which would be insane in my opinion

Card seems to come either 'pre-formated' or the phone formats right away when you insert the card as an 8GB card's capacity is around 7.4GB empty when in the phone..

Seen a few ads like this one for pre-orders, some quoting October delivery, but given nothing shown on Sandisk's website I will believe it when I see it.
Any one got any other news on this?

    Hi all,

Sorry for causing any confusion but my 8GB Sandisk card was not new and was previously being used in my Nokia E90 and that is why i reformatted it in the Bold. But a new card is normally formatted once you insert it in a new device anyway as it puts all the folders you need there is my understanding of how it usually works.

This table is fairly accurate but I put the number of 32Gb for the Bold when I had read rumors that 32Gb was going to be supported. This seemed reasonable to me when I wrote my post http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/micr...c-cards-46673/.

Recently I read this review of the Bold Hands-On with the New BlackBerry Bold - News and Analysis by PC Magazine that clearly says that the Bold will support 16Gb of Media Card.

I now believe that 16Gb capacity is for sure bt I am now not sure about 32Gb.

Wait and see seems to be the only way right now. Until we can buy a 32Gb microSDHC card (even Calss 2) there is just no way to know.

It depends on what you are doing. Thre's a link in my post http://forums.crackberry.com/f2/micr...c-cards-46673/ here eBay Guides - What is SDHC Card What's the difference with normal SD that explains the differences.

Class 2 seems to be suficient for oir BlackBerry needs and will be cheaper than Classes 4 and 6 but I have not tested all the calsses.
