Does anyone know if AIM Messenger is available and working for 8700G W/T-Mobile service? If so, where do I go to download. Thanks in advance.

I don't know if it works, but, go to your browser on your BB. And at the top, you'll see T-Zones links. In there you'll see, Install instant messaging...

    Download at will...

Be careful with that as I'm pretty sure that is the OZ Messaging client which uses SMS and not Data.

For the BB released AIM, you can go to http://www.blackberry.com/aim from your device and see if it will download. I was able to get it on my 8800 and it works for me on T-Mobile.

ah, thanks for that Kaspeapd. I totally forgot to mention that.

ps: all help given is free, and as is. I'd hate for someone to try and sue me for a mobile bill -

I tried following your instructions kasperapd, but it tells me my wireless carrier doesnt support the software.

I have an 8800 and am also on T-mobile.

Any idea why this would happen?

The app has been up and down on the website. I don't think it was 100% ready for launch yet.

yeah, i was just told my carrier doesn't allow it either. I really don't like the OZ Messaging Service. How would I go about removing it?

You'll need a third party instant messaging application. I would check out beejive :: JiveTalk mobile messaging . It is the best out there.

Ramble IM, it seems to work pretty well. And its totally free.

Try Nimbuzz; I use this for my Blackberry and it works well when I need it. Apparently, it also includes support for Skype and other protocols.

I can't post URLs yet, but do a Google Search for Nimbuzz.

    FABULOUS LINK!!!!!

The only problem with following that is that I have an UNLOCKED BB Curve 8300 that is branded by AT&T and I have it on the T-mobile network. T-Zones doesn't work for me. Everything else is A-ok. But I'm having a heck of a time trying to get aim on my phone.
