I am due for an upgrade on January 2nd and I am stuck. Should I stick with BlackBerry or move on? I've had the 9700 and now the 9800 but I want to upgrade to the 9900 or iPhone. LOVE my Torch and PlayBook, but honestly I don't know. And I don't want to wait for BB10 phones. I've waited long enough for the 9900.
    9900 or 4S? Pros/Cons?

I tried the 9930 then brought it back and got the ip4s. The only thing I miss at times is that amazing keyboard! Iphone can do so much and I love the full html emails and the fact that your email folders show up the same as on a computer. So if you are like me and organize your email and like to go back to your folders to look at emails on the go iphone does this very nicely. Battery life was better on the iphone than the 9930.(But I did have one of the first batches of 9930s) Maybe its better now. The only other thing I liked about the 9930 was the ability to text a picture with a song or ringtone. To most its probably not a huge deal. I didn't realize how much I did that until I couldn't on an iphone. So for me I say ip4s for the win! Now if RIM would come out with a BB10 9930 type Bold with a bigger screen and get rid of the trac pad and row of buttons I would be very intrigued! So long story short if you can get by without the physical kb I might suggest trying the iphone and if its not for you bring it back for 9930.

How about a third choice? The 9810. The keyboard seems to be a little better spaced than the 9800. Screen resolution is much better. Once you've tried it (and OS7), you'll realize it isn't a 9800 rehash. It's what the 9800 should have been in the first place. And you avoid having to buy a whole new set of accessories.

That right there tells me you enjoyed your Torch.
I would go for the 9900 or 9810
    the OS7 to me is amazing I had a 9800 os6 now 9810 os7
The Liquid Graphics really help a lot specially for web browsing.
Pinch to zoom is perfect now you really have to try it.
The new web browser is a lot faster I feel around 40-50% faster
and so smooth. I have zero complains with that.
Screen Resolution is also better and you will notice it right away.
I say get the 9900, but if you are really into downloading apps
and those sort of stuff get the iphone4.
or just get a 9900 and get and ipod on the side same as a iphone
and get the best of both worlds.

    They're both great phones.

I chose the iPhone because I felt that it better fit my needs. There's a much larger app store, better camera, and all of those other things that have been listed out so many times.

Touchscreen keyboards are much better than they used to be, but if you really prefer the physical keyboard, then BlackBerry is the way to go. OS 7 has made plenty of improvements to the user experience that improve over OS 6 and bring it miles ahead of OS 5 and older.

Just go to a Best Buy or something and try them both out.

Thee 9900 is a freakin AWESOME device, and it makes a great companion with the PlayBook.

It has the classic bold style but with a touch screen as well, and it has the BEST keyboard ever made on a mobile phone. EVER.

    I highly recommend this phone.

My upgrade is on February 2nd. Have had a BlackBerry for 5 years now, and i'm switching to an iPhone without thinking twice about it. I'm sure the 9900/9930 is a good phone, but I am sick and tired of being let down by RIM. Maybe i'll come back to BlackBerry, but that is highly unlikely.

I know what you mean. Its good to change sometimes. I did it, I had the HTC Evo for 28 days. I'm back, rocking the Bold 9900.

This one is touch. I have the 9930 and its great but RIM was still one year behind with this phone. I know many people that have left BB to get either the Iphone or android phone. I like the kb but the touch kb works too. Iphone is fast, smarter and apple is more supportive. I like my 9930 though. If I were to choose based on what every1 else has , I would go with the iphone.

So I take it you do not utilize the bridge feature a lot? That would be a tough thing for me to give up, having owned a PlayBook and a BB phone. Bridging is faster when paired with an OS 7 phone.

I own an iphone, Torch 9810 and a new Samsung Google Nexus. I like all of them. They all do different things well, though of the 3 I like the iphone the least.

No one says you can only have one phone.

Which one you get depends on what you want to do with it?

Right now, I use my Android 70% of the time, my Blackberry 20% and my iphone 10%, but that's me.

They are all pretty good. Are apps important to you? Do you do a lot of messaging? Do you do a lot of talking?

Let me know your priorities and I will try to help.

I run an Atrix alongside my BBerries...although since getting my 9860 the Atrix is on hiatus. Should come back eventually, after I've played with my 9860 long enough.

I was ready to get the iPhone 4S, even bought the Otterbox Defender case for it ahead of time. But when I had it in my hand and I looked at it and then at my Atrix I decided that it didn't overwhelm me as much as I thought it would, so I didn't buy it. IF ONLY you could run themes on it without jailbreaking it it would be nice. It's the same exact UI I had on my 3GS, and frankly I was bored of it. Wanted something different.

So.....long story short....I would go for any of the three OS 7 devices. I've got all three and each has a spot in my heart. For me, the best one is the 9930.....only drawback is that the camera plain sucks. When I take the same picture with my 9930 and my 9860, the difference is tremendous.

Since you have a PB I would choose the perfect partner, and that would be the 9930.

How do you keep them all synced? That has always been an issue for me when I cross platforms. I have seen so many 3rd party apps that claim they sync all platforms but it always screws up my info.
