This is for people who have trouble logging into root directly

To be able to log in as ROOT you first have to log in as dev user.
Make sure your settings look like the one in the below screenshot.
I want to thank HaTaX who showed me how to do this in the IRC chat.

MAKE SURE "Lookup user groups" is UNCHECKED

I jailbroke 1 of my playbooks this afternoon after fixing all the errors finally got it up and running.
jailbroke my second playbook but getting the same error as you.
Strange I deleted the backup and the dingleberry rsa.
jailbreaks fine and dingle connects no problem but winSPC gives that error.

I believe the rsa key is made in the first couple steps of rooting the playbook when it sends the payload to the device

Got it, how to avoid BASH error

look closely there are spaces in the shell path

    /tmp/setuidgid<>root<>/bin/sh

replace the <> with a space or copy pate following

    /tmp/setuidgid root /bin/sh

Hi there, I am also getting same error but if we are not changing Shell Directory and leaving it as Default solves this problem but it creates another problem later on. I am not sure, that problem is caused by it or something else.

Probem is: I can not copy System folder in Root directory of PlayBook I am trying from last 5 days.
Anyone can help me to solve it out plzzzz?????

Getting the same error. I can only seem to connect by using SFTP and ticking the box "Allow SCP fallback" but am then unable to copy the system file to the blackberry root folder. Skipped this step and manager to load HLC on playbook but cannot open Android Market but can see the currently installed apps :confused:

I finally got by this, following instructions to the letter but rather than selecting SCP in file protocol, I selected SFTP and ticked the box allowing SCP fallback, and it worked a treat
