With the 2012 roadmap, does it seem that the Torch slider is done? From the article on the BBX devices due out next year, for the most part, it would seem that we will have a choice between the full touchscreen Torch like device and a descendant of the Bold 9900. I love having the full screen with the slideout keyboard.
I would find it hard to believe they would only stick to 2 form factors(full touch and bold style). Maybe to begin with, but it would only make sense to make a slider. It's the best of both worlds, full touch screen with a full hardware qwerty keyboard. Plus these will be high end devices costing around 5 or 600$, where does that leave their emerging third world markets that clamor for the cheaper curve series? They would at the very least have to produce a cheaper series that would also run BBX.
I am sure the answer to question will come from the sales volumn of the 9810. I bought one about 10 days ago and really like it. I had an old BB 8800. I wanted a bigger screen and a physical keypad. The 9810 was the perfect answer. And just for fun, I got a BB PB. I think the two units in tandem are just great.
I sure hope so. After all the problems I had with my bold 9900 whenever I see a torch 9810 I start drooling.....damn I should have gotten that phone instead...
