probably just an OS battery reporting error. radio wont turn off until 5%. my guess is your phone wasnt reporting the proper battery level.

i would suggest upgrading your OS to the newest .464 and see how that works. the only other thing i could think of is the battery is not able to fully charge to its proper 4.xxx volts and the OS thinks it is. therefore when the battery is actually depleted, the OS thinks its still got juice left. but my money is on software bug.

What if I don't have internet and can't update to that?..
Would a new battery fix that or is it the Os itself?. Thanks

    what did i say??

then get internet. or use your phone as a modem to download the OS. as for getting a new battery, if i felt it would fix the issue, i wouldve told you that. feel free to buy one though. but i cant justify spending $40 on a new one if the solution is possibly a simple and free OS reload/upgrade.

1.) reload OS, if the problem persists....

2.) test someone elses battery or buy a new one, if problem persists....

    3.) warranty replacement

Nothing. I cursed at it and figure it is just showing its age.

Quite honestly, I have had it with BlackBerry (phone, not PlayBook). I am waiting for the Nexus on Verizon. If I don't like it, off to the iDarkSide for me.

I will be keeping my eyes open for the 2012-2013 QNX line.

I had this EXACT problem with my Storm 1. It would switch off randomly and boot up at close to 0% and have the radio on for a second then switch off again, booting up to 20%...and then just keep rebooting randomly till I got fed up.

I switched out the battery to my spare battery and PRESTO. Problem solved. The old battery was messed up.

    Change the battery bro.
