I currently have a Sprint Blackberry Style 9670 and I was wondering if I upgraded to a Sprint 9930 If I would have to change my current plan and be charged an additional 10 dollar smartphone fee or would I be able to keep the plan I already have?

I upgraded from the 9670 style to the 9850 torch on sprint. I bought the 9850 contract free and when calling to activate it, managed to get a $100 credit to my bill (10 months left on contract, $10 per month is how they figured out 100). Although they technically did not remove the $10 fee, I was able to (after about an hour of calling) get a bonus from sprint.

I love the unlimited plans with Sprint; I've had the same plan for years. Hate the $10.00 smartphone fee.

technically its not for 4g anymore. it is labeled as a premium data fee. kind of their way of being able to keep unlimited data.
