I'm a noob at these sort of things, so could someone kindly give me step by step instructions on how to update?

I brought the phone from a friend and it was sim free. I'm currently on T-mobile UK. I've heard you have to delete some vendor.xml file during the upgrade process, does this apply to me?

Also, will my BBM contacts be saved, or do I have to manually back them up?

    Many thanks !!

You shouldn't have to do all of that.. Just download the latest blackberry desktop software then plug up your bb to the pc and that's it.. The desktop software will prompt you to upgrade the device software and it will back up your contacts and other info first then do the update by itself... It takes about 40 minutes to a hour for the whole process but its that's simple..

Once you get it going, watch your memory usage. I found os6 to be a huge drain memory compaired with os5

Ok, I've upgraded to 6.0 bundle 2647 and I'm not really impressed. Main reason is cos battery life is poor. It also drains memory as above poster said. Considering a downgrade back to os5, but I stupidly forgot to take note of what os version it was.
    Help plz guys?

    Thanks

Thanks mate. I know this is asking a lot, but could you run through the steps on how you did it?

I've read through the threads and I still don't understand much of the stuff, so help would be gladly appreciated.

    Many thanks.
