- UPDATE: All apps are being shared through a spreadsheet look below
Go to https://accounts.google.com/ServiceL...heets&hl=en_US and see if the application is listed
If the application is not listed, or you need to update the status of an existing application, please fill out the form at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...V1Z0E6MQ#gid=0
If the application is listed, check the status
If the application is listed mutliple times, make sure to check the status from the most recent timestamp
When you want to update the status of an application, you will need to resubmit it
Submissions cannot, and will not, be edited.
UPDTAE: Our good friend HaTaX has made it a lot easier for people unfamiliar with the command prompt to convert apks. Here is the link, basically download his zip file and read the readme file, yea you have to read it sorry.

Hey all so I decided to do some messing around and figured out how to convert an apk to bar and load it onto my playbook running os2. I converted Enterprise Remote Desktop and sideloaded it via DDPB installer.
I've attached the bar if you want to try using RDP. Let me know if you want me to try to convert other apk's. I will be trying netflix and skype next. Atleast we are getting somewhere. I am sure Hatax will be able to achieve way more than I have but its a start so lets start loading apps again.
UPDATE: It seems if you had the previous Android App Player at any point you may have to do a security wipe.
UPDATE: INSTRUCTIONS TO TRY SIGNING APPS YOURSELF
To create and sign your own bar files from apk (android apps).
1. Go here: https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/android/tool and download the Comman-line tools.
2. Go here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...ads/index.html and download the java jdk.
3. Go here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html and download the android sdk. Once installed make sure to download the 2.3.3 ver 10 update.
Please make sure you install Android APK 2.3.3 API 10 Revision 2. You will see it in the download list.
4. Register for your own signing keys.
5. Extract the download from the command line tools to a folder, I created folder c:\apkbar
6. To make things easy I would install the android sdk to c:\apkbar or copy it to c:\apkbar because you have to point to it in the command prompt.
7. Create a folder to save your apk files in, I used c:\apk
8. Open the command prompt and browse to your Command line tools folder, in my case it was c:\apkbar\
9. Type the following:
apk2bar <location of apk> <location of sdk> -t <location to save bar>
if you used my folders it would be:
apk2bar c:\apk\kindle.apk c:\apkbar\sdk\ -t c:\apk
10. Next we are going to sign the bar file, while still in the command prompt type the following:
batchbar-signer <location of bar file> <location of development key> <passcode> <passcode>
11. Install via DDPB ( http://www.filearchivehaven.com/2011...dpb-installer/ )Last edited by erandhawa; 10-22-11 at 03:11 PM.
10-18-11 09:30 PMLike 86 - Apps UPDATE 10.21.11 @ 4:05pm pacific:
Thanks to technomensch for bringing this up but read below a team of people have made a better system to keep track of bar files. Its a google docs link which works phenominally so please add your bar files to the links below.
Thanks to my comrades over in this thread, together, we've set up a working system {read that thread if you want to know what happened, and why we've changed}:
Go to https://accounts.google.com/ServiceL...heets&hl=en_US and see if the application is listed
If the application is not listed, or you need to update the status of an existing application, please fill out the form at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...V1Z0E6MQ#gid=0
If the application is listed, check the status
If the application is listed mutliple times, make sure to check the status from the most recent timestamp
When you want to update the status of an application, you will need to resubmit it
Submissions cannot, and will not, be edited.
If there are any other changes or developments, I will be sure to post it here.
We thank you for your patience and your assistance.
UPDATE: I will keep on updating and converting bar files. Another thread has been created to list actual tested and successfully working Bar files (most below work but the other thread covers the ones we haven't listed down below since they don't work)
Please make sure we don't post any paid apps, we do not want to take away from developers, at the end of the day they are the ones that work hard to get these great programs. If you paid for a android app and would like it converted please follow the steps below and if you get stuck someone can probably help, we don't want to post paid apps if we have please pm and we'll remove it

If you can pm me links to bar files or just post bar files I can update this list.

10-18-11 09:36 PMLike 37 - skype would be amazing if it worked. Please let us know if you can do it.
PS. I am super sad about the netflix attempt. Let's hope that there's somehow another way.LuisAVillasenor likes this.10-18-11 09:44 PMLike 1 - So kindle, skype and im+ are comming up incompatible, but I am pretty sure if I can figure the command prompt converter out we can get im+ and kindle working. This is where we need Hatax, pretty sure he'd be able to figure out the conversion process out fairly quick but i'll stay on it and update as it goes.
Update:
packaged kindle and installing will let you know shortly.Last edited by erandhawa; 10-18-11 at 09:49 PM.

- So definately doing something wrong in the command prompt converter. Using the online converter worked like a charm trying to use the command prompt I couldn't even get rdp to work successfully. I'll keep you updated once I figure out why my command prompt converter isn't working.10-18-11 10:07 PMLike 0

Were you repacking the files using this?
@renaun posts: Repacking an AIR based .apk to PlayBook .bar
If that works - let me know. I'll create a Windows program to package it for you.

- So, I followed the instructions on how to get the DDPB installed and put my PB in developer mode and the DDPB sees my PB but when I push the Android App Player to my PB it says "Done" but it does not install. Is it possible I needed to have this installed before I updated to v2.0?10-18-11 10:33 PMLike 0

- Awh gosh darn it. That's upsetting. Netflix would make my playbook purchase more worth it by about a million times.10-18-11 10:39 PMLike 0
