    Hello,
So, my curiosity got the better of me, and I installed the OS 2.0 today. Did not like it. As you already know, Bridge doesn't work, and I was having problems connecting to my Wifi network as well. Cue the "the developer preview isn't for normal consumers" flames, I guess I deserve them.

I downgraded to 1.07.xxx using DM, but after restarting, the PB setup keeps starting to do the 2.0.0.3778 upgrade.

After entering Wifi, BBID, Language/region and time settings, I'm taken to the Software Update section. I can't exit out of the Software Update screen, and obviously I'm not interested in the v2.0 update (for now).

Does anyone know how I can prevent it from auto updating? Basically I can't get to any screen other than the Software Update one, so I'm pretty sure I'm at least going to have to re-download it.

    Damn you curiosity!

    Thanks

Yes, I followed those steps. It did downgrade, but during the initial setup after downgrading, it's automatically upgrading again.

Dang hope someone can help you, does it even automatically update or do you have to start the process?

I think the upgrade request will expire after 24 hours.

Once the PB restarts it goes straight to the Software Update screen. I can't swipe away from it (like the other initial setup screens) so I basically have no choice but to re-download and re-install the "upgrade."

Ugh! Thanks for your replies though kbz1960.

Turn of Wifi? Might have to do the downgrade again. Turn of Wifi before that completes. Just a guess, I haven't looked at teh downgrade proceedure.

Maybe email RIM or wherever you signed up for the beta and ask them to take your PIN off the list?

Best way is to sell your Playbook on Craigslist and buy yourself a good tablet.

I'm having the exact same problem... Hoping the "expire" date will save me.
I followed the procedures and it wiped my tab and put the 2.0.xx back on.
    Ugh.
If not, then the actual release of 2.x.x should fix it. But when is this again? (Please, don't answer, that was meant sarcastically...)
I doubt there'll be much support from RIM on this, why would they??
Anybody with any luck out there??
    Thanks!

After turning your PB off and running DM to downgrade, how long did it take to download the original OS? My download seems to be extremely slow. Hope I can keep mine from autoloading OS 2.0. How ironic......Funny how threads can change huh?

Yes it'll be slow slow because the servers are real busy with everyone downloading both versions now.

    24 hour bug, then.
Downloaded the 2.x version of Need for Speed and handed it to my 15-y-o boy.
I heard "Cool!" and he's off.

Woah, how did you get the bridge to work? If it works then I'm leaving it alone.

Bridge works for me as well.

BBM wasn't so i restarted the playbook and its working..

no groups in BBM though.. dissappointing.. I can't tell my buddies in the group when i'm pooping.. Really.. First thing I did when they invited me to the group was to message them while in the can.

now 8 times a day i get a message from someone telling the group they are pooping... Its almost like girls going to the washroom in pairs lol.

Put this url into your Playbook browser and it will access bridge on the phone.

Other than YouTube that freezes, everything works OK. Not to many improvements that I see other than the new UI. PB however is responding to commands a lot faster including Bridge files.
I've upgraded to 2.0 by USB not wireless.
