I decided to give a hybrid OS a try for my 9900. I'm fed up with my BB, and wanted to see if any of theses hybrid OS's will improve my battery life because none of the leaked or official releases do.

Why the need for hybrid OS and would it help me at all?

Small changes that will fix tiny problems. Or big ones.

A straight .600 9650 hybrid will give you a fast UI, bad radio and black screen of death.

A .600 hybrid uses a .526 radio, Keeps the fast UI and eliminates the Black Screen of death. Each hybrid will work a bit differently.

If your a devoted Blackberry user and have never tried a Hybrid OS, you need to do so ASAP. Not just any hybrid tho. Check out Driphter.com. I used a stock BB Storm2 9550 for years and was somewhat satisfied. I decided to try a Hybrid OS and was amazed at the difference. A lot of times, a Hybrid OS can fix UI issues, response time, certain bugs, battery life. We all know the Storm1&2 were plagued with issues, after getting my the right hybrid OS I had access to certain OS6 features etc that wasn't available on S1&2. If you check out Driphter.com each phone has it's own forum with all the available hybrids. Most likely tho, with the newest BB's, it may be sometime before a lot of hybrids start popping up, but when they do I'm sure they'll be great.

Yes I agree with you. I use the hybrids too. I was just wondering why dosent the rim guys do the mix n macth then release newer software version?
