- Ive had every BB bold released (available to UK) & in my opion you can not beat a BlackBerry when your main priority is communication & notification. Each bold (obviously) has got better than the last but at this point as i happily message away on my 9900 i cant help but feel the 9780 has been my PERFECT phone. I love the touch screen & keyboard on the 9900 but i feel the size & Battery life also the camera & a keyboard that is not to far behind the 9900 for typing speed, make this my ideal handset. BB6 & BB7 universal search has been my main favourite new feature & the the fact that Chose to totally give up on the BlackBerry Browser so i dont rely on it for internet means the features i need most day to day ie sms, text email, memopad notifications Calendar are all second to none on the BlackBerry & i just feel that the 9780 with the Better battery & camera & size make it the perfect phone. Just my feelings anyway......10-13-11 06:48 AMLike 0
- An ******* which everyone has??
Cant say my 9780 was any better than my 9900...ive given it to my other half and she likes it purely because of the size but my battery life on the 9780 was terrible, just as bad as the 9900 and i had updated to just about every official OS out there for it.
Meh each to their own but personally anyone who think the 9780 is a better BB than the 9900 needs to get their head checked10-13-11 07:49 AMLike 0 - I have both and I can honestly say that once you tried 9900, you would not want to go back to 9780 due to the size of the screen and the KEYBOARD.
P.S. Now I know how people with BB 9000 feel when 9700 came out.. lol

I carry a spare battery (like I've done for every BlackBerry) so the battery life isn't a show stopper for me. The touch screen and keyboard layout are superb on the 9900.10-13-11 08:53 AMLike 0
- I came into the Bold series a little late (see signiture) a lot of my friends had 9000 when I had 8900 (didn't care at the time) but after owning a 9700/97800. I'm happy/prefer 9900. 9780 may have Batt life but since upgrading to .440 the only con I had for this phone was batt life. Which I am now content with (full day and 10-12hrs)(varies)

I would take my phone off charge at 10pm at night put it on standby during the night & still get a full day out of it & put it back on charge at about 40% battery, my 9900 is back on charge by about 4pm the next day but that is the price you Pay for a touch screen (as BB Torch owners know to well)10-13-11 09:29 AMLike 0
- I've had a BB going back to when they were just email devices. Taking into consideration I've always been on a CDMA network the 9930 is the best BB I've ever used. I've had it since they first went on sale, been on the stock Verizon OS and have excellent battery life with moderate to heavy usage all day long.chasvs likes this.10-13-11 09:36 AMLike 1

- Its a toss up for me, both have their pro's and cons. The 9780 is better at the battery life contest. But it had that annoying keyboard stutter which never went away for me. The camera on the 9780 is better (for my usage at least) than the 9900. I do love the touch screen & an awesome keyboard of the 9900. So for me - its a toss up.10-13-11 01:54 PMLike 0
- I guess it just highlights how important Battery Life & the camera are to me. But dont get me wrong i love the 9900 & i actually look forward to writing long messages on it because its a dream to type on, but since the iPhone takes alot of the heat off my BlackBerry use it makes me realise that if i relied fully on my Berry like i used to then the 9900 battery life would be a major problem for me because i like to social network throughout the day ALOT & RSS feeds are also used often & taking photos of documents is also important to me. But anyway that was just a random BB thought i had to get off my chest now im fully back up & running after the horrific 3 day outage. Thanx for your responses.
BB FOR LIFE F*** A OUTAGE :-)10-13-11 02:19 PMLike 0 -

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com10-13-11 05:52 PMLike 0 - I have had a 990 for a week sitting in front of me and have been using it to get a feel of it.
I really thought that I could not get rid of my true workhorse 9780 as it is just fantastic. After using the 9900 for 8 hrs today non stop it is really just double amazing! I must say that is it like everything, we know what we like and we know what we are used to BUT this is the way forward and much better hardware and software......I am still very excited about checking out the new 9780 which I think will be a massive hit for the 9780 mega fans!
The 9780 is looking at my on my desk and it very tempting to just reload and use but I must resist and go with the flow!10-13-11 05:59 PMLike 0 - I think the 9700 is the worst bold ever made. What a POS. Should have been called something below curve.10-13-11 07:16 PMLike 0
