I'm on Fido and my emails and BBMs are being quirky. Some aren't showing as being delivered or sent but people are getting them. Not getting the replies until I send another message. Anyone else having issues?

Interesting.... I don't know if I've got the update or not. I don't regularly keep emails in my inbox, so that's not a good indicator for me.

Does anyone know if there's somewhere on the phone that you can check to verify the update?

I think thats a server side thing. I could be wrong though?

I was already in there. Don't see a server selection. What should I be looking for there?

First, the BIS update would be on the server side. there is no way to check it from your phone.

Second, there is/was a "planned system upgrade" for T-Mobile USA at 2AM, October 8. I am still having problems with receiving emails and as of 9:30 AM, there was still a trouble ticket opened at T-Mo for this problem.

It is possible that RIM is upgrading all of its servers, causing the same problems on every carrier.

I was beginning to think it was just me. There is a test I'm going to try to verify the update. You can try this on your own carriers. Send yourself a 10 or 11MB email. That is one of the new improvements. If you get it then you know you have the update.

Ok I was able to open a 5.3MB attachment on my 9860. I wasn't able to open it on the Playbook though. I think that size of attachment is in the new BIS upgrade range.

I am on Rogers and have been having glitches with my email today. This evening I received a flurry of email sent on Friday, but not delivered till now (Sat evening).

I just set up a new email account on my Torch 9810. I received the last 20 emails on the account. This never happened before.

I therefore conclude the 4.1 is up and running for Rogers.

That would explain why BIS kept going off and on at about midnight last night. I figured it was the 4.1 update happening, but I couldn't confirm it.

Hoping my network gets this soon. I really need bigger attachment sizes.

Only if you have an OS 7 phone. Those of us with OS 6 or older are SOL and won't see any changes. My emails still get truncated at a paltry 60 kb or so.

    It's utterly ridiculous.

Before the update what was the maximum attachment size we could send or receive on OS6?

All depends on your carrier, not BIS.
