Every now and then, my phone would temporarily freeze where i cant do anything, then what ever gestures i made during the freeze would all catch up. Anyone experience this? I'm wondering if it was app related or OS related.
I think this is an issue that many OS 7 users are experiencing. I've several 9900's, 9860's all with different OS versions and have seen this on most. Hopefully this will be resolved with newer OS versions.
I am also experiencing the same. Hopefully RIM / VZN is on top of this. I had been blaming these freezes on my Jonathan Fisher Storm Launchers, which have worked for S1, S2, and now 9850 with OS7. I might try lowering the touch sensitivity of my screen.

I've experienced some short temporary freezes with the .261 OS (I believe?) on my 9850 from Sprint. Upgraded to .362 and everything seems to be working fine.
If your 9850 freezes or feels slow try this. Press and hold the menu button. A thumbnail list of running applications running in the background will appear. Close down all applications that are not needed , particularly games, gps, maps, browser, weather, music and video as these make the BB run slower and freeze. Leave the essential applications running such as mail, blackberry messenger, home, options and phone. Keep your Blackberry running lean and smooth by opening apps when needed and remembering to close them when you are done. Enjoy
I never leave apps running when they are no longer in use. I'm on .362 and have seen the hourglass and freezing only when the phone is starting up and the phone is trying to get everything starting at once. I also think BerryWeather is somewhat of a resource hog.
Glad someone started a thread to cover these issues.
So far I've had my phone seriously hang while doing the following.
1. Running google maps with the terrain layer on in an area with intermittent low signal while using the media player;
2. Certain heavy javascript webpages like membase.com (yes, I find sophomoric humor amusing sometimes) causing the browser to be completely unresponsive for several minutes - ended up pulling the battery;
3. Anytime I'm in a game and a new notification comes through.
never had a freeze or slow down until i installed Quick Launch. might be a coincidence. love the program so i am willing to tolerate the occasional slow down.
I just had a moment of major phone fail. Loaded crackberry in a second browser tab, message came in, and the phone screen went half black. Rotating and attempting to close or switch out of the browser via the menu key caused the screen to go entirely black; oddly, the data arrows would still display and the charger dis/connect noise would still play. I pulled the battery and the phone froze a little over halfway through reboot. Pulled the battery again and all seems good for now, but I'm thinking about doing a full device wipe....
