Ok i have an aux head phone jack connected to my car radio. my privious blackberrys ( 9800 8520 9700 8310 all would work and play music thru my car stereo when i plugged this head phone jack into my blackberry. For some reason it isnt working with my new 9810. is anyone else experiencing this issue? did they change the head phone jack size with this build?

I do the same thing. 8310, 9800, 9810 all work fine. It's a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, that hasn't changed in years.

Sometimes I have to manually go in and select Headset....for some reason just plugging it in doesn't always work.

Yes both phones will work with head phones. Its very unusual. Because all of my blackberries prior to this one have worked on the same cord with the same radio in my truck until the 9810. Tried all official and unofficial operating systems still no luck. Can't figure it out

I have actually experienced this. Only for me the car input cord worked, 2 sets of ear bud headsets/hands free wired head sets worked, but 2 other headsets did not work. I am not 100% certain, but I believe both of the non-working ones are a little bit older then the working ones. All worked with my 9800, but a few do not work on my 9810. And it is always the same ones that do not work. Not sure if there is/was a change in material or wear and tear on the older ones, and the 9810s 3.5 mm jack has a more sensitive/picky sensor?

The only issue I have had with the 3.5 jack is that it seems harder to plug the cable into it. I hear a click everytime I plug it in (I didn't on my 9800). My car is pushing a pair of 12s and I get good quality. I had issues once, but the cable wasn't pushed in all the way into the phone. Wish I had better input for you.

Have you tried a different cord? You say that wired headphones work but not just this specific cord. Regardless of whether it worked before and still works with other phones/accessories, I would try a new cord first and foremost. I do the same thing in my car and just picked up a new monstercable 3.5 to 3.5 at walmart for 10 bucks. for 10 bucks its not worth the hassle to try and get another cord to work.
