    I bought the 9850 and was wondering if it would work with a carrier in Colombia, which when talked to a rep said GSM and 1900 Mhz.

    Alrighty, These are the specs of the 9850:

    Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
    Single-band: 2100MHz UMTS/HSPA networks
    Dual-band: 800/1900 MHz CDMA/EVDO REV A networks

    yea u got that backwards dude. the 9860 is the GSM version and the CDMA version is the 9850. the post above you is the correct info the original poster was looking for.

    once unlocked, the CDMA 9850 will work on any GSM network. the only catch is it will be EDGE only on 850/900/1800/1900 and 3G on europes 2100 mhz band. thats it. you cannot get a 3G signal on the other four bands.

    I guessthis means that I will get 3G in Hungary T-mobile. According to their specs, 3G is offered on 2100Mhz

    both the 9850 and 9860 offer 3G on 2100 mhz.

    It will only work EDGE on 1900Mhz no 3G... 3G will only work with the 9860 and only the 9860 from Rogers and Telus will work 3G with 1900Mhz as there is another version of 9860 from UK (Vodafone and US T-Mobile) that won't work 3G with 1900Mhz...
